I was on my way to someone's desk at my job to ask a question and then I was told..."she's not here anymore they let her go" So I'm like....why and when? I just hate hearing someone was canned without knowing the reason. I'm still trying to find out the reason so i can have less anxiety. I just started my 3rd year at the job and want to be here for a while so I can continue to save.

Anyone get anxiety once someone is let go?

Nope.
Because anytime that happened, everyone knew for weeks prior that it needed to happen sooner than later.

You need to let it go.
The reason is really not your concern.
If you mind your own business, your anxiety may lessen.

Only because I worked in such a small office that the hatchet fell right before my eyes. I was embarrassed for the girl, and felt sorry for my boss who had to let her go.
This came after another of my coworkers and I were told that we would be losing our jobs after a certain date. At that company, a bank, they managed to ruin my nerves for several reasons.

Hiring and firing are common business events. The only thing to worry about is who they will put in that seat.

Why is it giving you anxiety? Do you think you aren't doing well at your job? I have not gotten anxiety from that because the reason has always had nothing to do with me. Just keep doing your job. Trying to find out what happened could get you in trouble.

It is. People get laid off and companies can close on short notice too. From day one of entering the workforce its best to save some money, keep the resume updated and contacts as well. A job can end at a moments notice.

The job market is a revolving door. This does not make me nervous. There is always another job waiting to be filled.

That seems to be less true these days, unless your willing to move across the country or another part of the world every time you hit the revolving door.

Less true compared to when? I have been in the workforce for a little over a decade now. Doesn't seem like much of a difference. I don't think the average American has to move to acquire employment. 2008 and 2009 was a different story.
