This is exactly how many years of work you should reveal on your resume - MarketWatch

10 years puts me at four jobs on the resume, and can fit that on two pages.

However, regardless of the gist of the article, employers have many ways to weed out older applicants. It can be as easy as Google search of applicant's name which lists age.

One size fits all doesn't work for anything.

I agree with this and will no longer be adding the jobs I worked for between 2000 and 2008.

Well in your case I would add one job before 2007.

When I got my current job in 2009 I went back to the 1980s, it was very related experience and helped me get the job. That was at age 57. Some kinds of work require a lot of experience, and age is expected. Some of our positions require 20 years experience, such as construction project managers. We just hired a new person for an executive position, age 61.

Same employer way more years than that. I just hope I don't have to look for a new job. . . .

Since I pretty much ONLY want to work in health care, I only list jobs for me relevant in that field. that means I only go back to 2005, and there are 3 total jobs on there.

What if you did a military stint outside of that ten year window? Worth listing, or only if relevant to current/future job prospects? Of course, disclosing vet status will almost immediately mean exposing service time.

I agree with the previous poster who noted that one size does not fit all. I go back 18 year to cover my legal career but don't include anything I did before I got my JD. It's only three jobs over that span. The first however was with a large and highly regarded law firm, so I likely will always go back that far since many inhouse legal positions either require or strongly prefer experience with a reputable firm.
