I do not get my employer.

They won't pay the overtime and holiday hourly pay at time and a half.

My company pays time and a half for overtime and time and a half for holidays.

Ex. I worked 50 hours the week of July 2nd to July 8th.

I did not have to work July 4th but i figured I would pick it up because it would be paid 1/2 time at the overtime hourly rate, not the regular hourly rate.

Well,i got my pay and I asked them about the rate.

They claimed that they do no have to combine overtime and holiday pay on the same hours.

Another example:
So the regular rate is $20.

Overtime would be $35,which i thought would be $52.5/hr on July 4th.

I was given $35/hr for July 4th.

I should have just stayed home and went to the family cookout.

I should have pointed out the overtime pay is anything over 40 hours week.

Holiday is time and a half period.

Most employers won't stack OT and holiday pay. According to your example, you already get a differential of 1.75x for OT, the only mandate is to pay 1.5x for OT. Your employer is already pretty generous.

The only time I have heard of employers stacking pay rates was the UAW in the 1980s. That doesn't happen any more.

You should consider yourself lucky. $20 * 1.5 = $30. If you were given $35, you got more than you were supposed to.

I did not know that.

I guess I will not work any more holidays then.

Most of my coworkers do work overtime, but nobody wants to work holidays.

Now i see why.

I actually think I am missing some pay.

That day i worked 10 hours.

Plus my regular 40 hours, and the extra 10 hours was given at overtime rate, plus an extra $5.

It should have been combined.

I actually feel cheated.

^ Contact someone in Payroll and tell them you want to review your hours for that week. Mistakes do happen.
