I am not a hard core gay guy into men, I am just a MTF crossdresser who loves wearing womens clothes [so beautiful!]. But I am categorized as "gay." Well, every job since 1992 - when I graduated [BSME] the companies I worked for somehow always found out I buy womens clothes [they spied on me after work]. And I did buy lots of womens clothes as a guy in the 90s in Chicago and I did acquire a gay reputation in society. So sometimes at every job in Chicago, lower class factory workers would spread gossip that I'm gay. And this has hurt me badly, as I never had a job last more than 1 year 1 month. If they knew during an interview that I was gay - I didn't get the job. If I was doing good at a job, and then they found out I'm gay, I usually didn't go temp to perm, my contract ended sooner, or worse - I was conspired out of a good permanent job!
Well, gays are human too and we need to make a living! For me, why ***** out a guy for simply loving crossdressing? Because you people out there are so intolerant, I can't be a successful man enough with a good paying high steady income to attract a pretty wife or have a family. So take it easy out there for crossdressers! Crossdressing ain't a major crime or so bad! Everyone has their own fetish so why ***** out crossdressers?
And then even when they outlawed discrimination against gays in Illinois in 2005 - I still was discriminated. I almost went temp to perm at a good job, they said I was doing excellent but was too expensive to buy out, then when they hear gossip I'm gay [the Eng Boss], I soon get structured out of my position.
So if you're straight, take it easy on some gay people in the workplace! Especially take it easy on crossdressers, as some of us are "straight enough."
If your gay, how hard has getting and keeping a job been? Have you experienced discrimination? How were problems at the workplace?
Even with modern anti gay discrimination laws there are lots of discrimination still agianst gay people because of you straight people.
My crossdressing gayness is a habit I tried to quit 5 times by purging, but always came back to buying clothes. I am addicted to dressing up in a skirt suit, wig, fake breast, makeup, jewelry - and looking like a totally beautiful woman! I admire myslef lots in a full lentgh mirror, and I pass and look beautiful enough to shop as a woman and use the woman's fitting room and bathroom! I can't quit this addiction!
The work force is more like "the dark force" these days, regardless if you are part of the GLBT community....many people dislike their jobs and the co-workers. People can make up gossip about anything. A co-worker could spread gossip about a straight man being gay or that a plus sized person is a lazy and useless slob. Anything rotten could happen to anyone.

There was a time I would have had a BIG crush on you. I'm a girl but, at one time was REALLY into this. Most of the time the best I could do was drag queens.
