More than 7 hours for sleep? What are you, 12?
Adults don't need to sleep half the day...
Nobody knows why people need sleep.
Criticizing someone for sleeping too much when ABSOLUTELY NO ONE
knows why people need sleep in the first place is, ... well ... under-12-ish.
Some people only need 3-4 hours of sleep a day.
Some people need 9-10 or so. - - - No one knows why.
Most of us wish we were among the 3-4 hour people.
There is a Normal distribution of sleep needs among the population.
What are you, 12? Don't you understand what a Normal distribution is?
Do you criticize people who are too short to reach something?
Do you know that there is also a Normal distribution of height?
"What are you, 12? Why can't you reach that?"
There is also a Normal distribution of intelligence.
Some, like me, are in the upper sigma reaches.
Some, are a couple standard deviations to the left. Sorry about that.
So who should have kids then, ...

The original subject of this thread is how to manage to have a job that
pays a decent amount and doesn't require you to work to hard. My
advice was aimed at that person and not some drive-by who takes
offense at stuff that doesn't even pertain to them.
If you want to save that kind of money, then not dropping
a sprog into this world is good advice.
So is reading for comprehension and not getting offended
by the one line in a post that you understand.
And yes, it is possible to save a million in ten years without
making a killing on the stock market. It requires great sacrifice.
Not having kids, for some, is one of those sacrifices.

I commute several hours each way to work because that's where the opportunities are in my field. I'm only part-time so it isn't stable enough for me to relocate. Are you the expert on how much sleep an adult needs? My body needs at least 9 hours of sleep per night and NO I am NOT twelve years of age.

I'm an adult and while I don't need to sleep "half the day," I can't consistently get only seven hours without eventually crashing an burning. I need a full eight, nine is even better.

My average daily commute was 3 1/2 hours when I lived in NJ and worked in NJ. That's pretty typical in many parts of the country.

Not saying that everyone should want to have kids at all, but if no one has kids there's no continuation of our society so having a society that makes it increasingly harder to have kids except by the least productive members of society is not good either.

I don't know about you but I think it would be cool to see how long it takes for the human race to go extinct if no one had kids.
On the whole kids argument, sounds like some of you have seen Idiocracy the movie. It's about the smart responsible people putting off having kids to focus on their careers therefore the lower class members of our society are the ones having 5, 10, 15 kids and society gradually becomes stupider because of it. Corny movie but it makes you think...
