Yes, absolutely, I saw snow flurries in Cannes as a kid in the early 70's!

Winter is a relative term. They're still mild by Northern Hemisphere standards, somewhat similar to San Francisco. I mean LA has had snow flurries in the past, but few would say it has a true 'winter' in the four seasonal sense.

Alaska is the most Northern, Eastern, AND Western state in all of America. It is the only state that enters the “Eastern Hemisphere” making it also the most eastern lying and western lying state.

The largest city in the world – based on surface area, is Hulunbuir, Inner Mongolia which is 263,953 km squared.

New Orleans Louisiana, Cairo Egypt and Lhasa Tibet are at about the same latitude.

I'll do another one:

Paraguay, Papua-New Guinea, and Yemen are all bigger than Germany.

New Guinea is the second largest island in the world, about twice the size of California.

Snow flurries are not common along the French Riviera in an ordinary winter, nor are sub-freezing lows. Contrary to Toronto, a humid continental climate with record lows below -30C..

The Pacific end of the Panama Canal, is EAST of the Atlantic end. Look at a map.

The very Northernmost point in Ireland (County Donegal) is NOT in what is commonly called "Northern Ireland (Ulster)" but is instead part of the Republic of Ireland of the South.

There are numerous enclaves and exclaves around the world - little tiny areas separated from their country but isolated inside a neighboring country. See Enclave and exclave - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In the USA, these include: the northwest angle of Minnesota (across the Canadian border), and the Point Roberts peninsula of Washington (isolated across the Canadian border). There many others in Europe.

The former Soviet Union used to spread across ELEVEN time zones. I think today's Russia spans at least TEN time zones.

Seattle, WA at 47.6097° N, is further north than Quebec City, Duluth(Minnesota, not Georgia), Montreal, Minneapolis, Ottawa, Toronto, Detroit, Milwaukee, and Chicago. In fact, it is the northernmost major metropolitan area in the USA(outside of Alaska).
