France makes you think more about Cheese than the Netherlands?
Dutch cheese is the best around, What the French make is butter!
Cheese from the Netherlands are very good, but it lacks variety. Almost all dutch cheese are semi-hard, and look quite the same after being sliced.
You can find at least 100 different French cheese in any cheese shop in France. Hard, semi-hard, soft. Cow, ewe or goat milk, some are mix of different milks. Raw, semi-pasteurised, pasteurised or micro-filtered. Tens of different mould or mushrooms. Etc.
But most Europeans country have a great cheese tradition as well. My favourite cheese is and will always be the true mozzarella made from Italian buffaloes, expensive, but so good !
