If you'd have to move to a post Soviet country, what would you choose? (home, living in)

I would prefer to live in Russia, since I admire Russian culture and music and since it would be nice to live for once in a powerful country. But I'd sure have my home in Saint-Petersburg, not Vladivostok or Irkutsk or something.
Tough question, none of these countries really appeal to me for long-term living.I love the history of Georgia/Armenia, but don't think I'd want to live there for more than a couple of years. Russia could be interesting, but it would likely have to be one of the major urban centers like Moscow/St. P's. While it might not affect my day-to-day life, I probably wouldn't like the feeling of basically living in a KGB police state. Riga is a beautiful city, so maybe Latvia. Central Asia would come at the bottom.

Just curious- what would be the appeal for you in living in a powerful country?
Ukraine - because of family connections, plus opportunity to make a difference in the lives of Ukraine's many orphaned children (which I also do from right here at home).
