US States with most name recognition around the world? (rank, park)

New York would be also be well known but some might confuse it with the city, and not realise its also a state.

California, Texas, Hawaii, Florida, Alabama, New York, Louisiana, Michigan, Alaska, Oklahoma, these are certainly amongst the most famous.

But there are others which are probably unknown outside USA, like Montana, Iowa, Nebraska, Mssouri, Wyoming, and others like Illinois, Maine and Nevada are less known than some cities in these states.

As everyone said, I agree with the most populous top 4 states(California, Texas, Florida, New York) and non-contiguous states(Alaska, Hawaii).

In addition to those, Minnesota is well-known in Norway for all the Norwegian-Americans living there.
