Here is the outcome of Libya as a result of US Obama Administration intervention to overthrow the previous government: But in three years Libya has turned into the kind of place U.S. officials most fear: a lawless land that attracts terrorists, pumps out illegal arms and drugs and destabilizes its neighbors. U.S. intervention in Libya now seen as cautionary tale - LA Times

Let's also take into account Nicolas Sarkozy of France and Mr. Cameron of U.K. started that war.
Sarkozy should be in a jail cell right now in the Hague, Netherlands for war crime and crime against humanity. Unfortunately he is trying a come back after losing in his bid to secure a second term.
He's been the best American president in the last 50 years as he's been trying to finally introduce welfare, got the USA out of a international crisis way before any other country. His main fault was attacking Libya and overthrowing Gaddafi's dictatorship, Libya was in no way ready for democracy, instead of attacking Gaddafi they should have helped him to retain control of the country as he was a fundamental ally in stopping the spread of Islamic fundamentalism in Libya
1898: USA victory in Spanish-American war (100,000 casualties)
1899 - 1902: Philippine-American war (300,000 casualties)
1899 - 1900: Indian famine (Millions of casualties)
1900: Galveston hurricane (8,000 casualties)
1906: San Francisco earthquake (3,000 casualties)
1908: Ford invents the Model T
1908: Messina earthquake (100,000 casualties)
1912: Titanic sinks (1,500 casualties)
1914 - 1918: World War 1 (10 million casualties)
1921: Adolf Hitler becomes leader of the Nazi party
1922: Beginning of the Soviet Union
1929: Crash of Wall Street... causes the great depression
1839 - 1945: World War 2 (73 million casualties)
So is death your bookmark on world events? Ok since WW2 an estimated 51 million people have been killed in wars between 1945 and 2000. That is killed not casulties. And the real number is obviously higher. There are right this minute 2 bloody wars going on in Europe and the middle east that have the potential to start a war between Russia and the west.
1999: Kosovo's liberation war - NATO vs Serbia (2,000)
2001-: Afghanistan's liberation war - USA & UK vs Taliban (40,000)
2001-: Nigeria vs Boko Haram (16,000)
2002-: Cote d'Ivoire's civil war (1,000)
2003-11: Second Iraq-USA war - USA, UK and Australia vs Saddam Hussein's regime and Shiite squads and Sunni extremists (160,000)
2003-09: Sudan vs JEM/Darfur (300,000)
2004-: Sudan vs SPLM & Eritrea (?)
2004-: Yemen vs Houthis (?)
2004-: Thailand vs Muslim separatists (3,700)
2007-: Pakistan vs PAkistani Taliban (38,000)
2012-: Iraq's civil war after the withdrawal of the USA (?)
2012-: Syria's civil war (200,000)
2014-: Ukraine's civil war (4,700)
But anyway I don't think just wars are world events. Landing someone on the moon is just as huge.

The US still was a key role in the intervention of Libya:
This is said by Obama own words in 2011 when Libya was still largely under Qaddafi regime:
I authorized military action to stop the killing and enforce U.N. Security Council Resolution 1973.
We struck regime forces approaching Benghazi to save that city and the people within it. We hit Qaddafi’s troops in neighboring Ajdabiya, allowing the opposition to drive them out. We hit Qaddafi’s air defenses, which paved the way for a no-fly zone. We targeted tanks and military assets that had been choking off towns and cities, and we cut off much of their source of supply. And tonight, I can report that we have stopped Qaddafi’s deadly advance Remarks by the President in Address to the Nation on Libya | The White House
Barack Obama was the best american president I knew since my birth (I was born in 1982). But the world leader which I regard as the best one in the past century is Konrad Adenauer, former chancellor of Western Germany.
Not like its a big accomplishment, looking at world history there hasn't been much drama in the world in the past 50 years.
World events? i said drama in the world.
War is dramatic in my opinion. Leaders have to make tough / risky and huge decisions during times of war.... and those that i listed were only the major wars there were so many more wars on a smaller scale (like the ones i see you listed below) that i didn't even include.
Today the media likes to be so dramatic about everything and its causing people to get all paranoid however, i have heard people in a serious matter predict WWIII was going to start over an island conflict between China and Japan... people seriously say these things... in reality we are actually living in a very peaceful era...
Compared to other American presidents in the past 50 years Obama's presidency has been pretty boring to be honest, nothing huge has happened ever since he's been in office.
J.F.K was a much better leader
