Nah, you were simply tunnel-visioned towards what you wanted to hear and/or were willing to accept. The echo-chambers on Reddit are probably more your scene
LOL Now you're an expert on what I observe. Please, tell me more. I feel so enlightened.
One thing I've noticed is that America seems to be the only developed country where black and white people sound different. In the UK I'd struggle to telling what colour skin somebody has just by hearing their voice down the telephone.
Here in Canada you will hear Canadian born Blacks speak with a Caribbean accent. You also have a lot of blacks try and copy American Black English Vernacular. They usually end up sounding really weird.
Yep, to the point to where when you come across someone like me who does not speak AAVE, we get told that we "sound white". Most idiotic thing about the race identification in this country.
Ah man I hate that. I have been told that too. Such a stupid mentality. Hispanics in California are the worst. A lot of them sound like they just crossed the border despite having been born in the US.

Yep, I mentioned in another thread how it can be impossible to tell a Mexican national from a native born in CA. Many who have immigrated here often speak really good English.

I wonder if that's more of a Toronto thing? I haven't noticed that out here in Vancouver.
From my experience, the U.S. is the most racially integrated.
The U.S. has more Latinos than England has people. The U.S. has more Blacks than Canada has people. The U.S. has more Asians/Pacific Islanders than Australia has people.
The U.S. has 133 million non-Whites. That's the UK, Canada and Australia combined.
America's diversity is on a whole different level. And for those who say the U.S. isn't diverse, our current Congress has over 100 racial minorities and racial minorities are represented through all levers of power, including former President Obama.

Diversity and integration are two different things. When it comes to diversity, the US is really without peer..

And the US has a lot more white people than the UK, Canada and Aus combined too...
Percentage of total population is the only valid comparator.

Yes, the fact they have more of all groups doesn't necessarily mean they're most integrated.
These groups could all live in their own silos. (Not saying that they necessarily do...)
