I had a copywriter write all the content for my website and paid her. However 1-2 months later I'm looking to add a sentence. Can I go to her for that? should I expect to be charged for that?
maybe i should write the sentence myself and see what she thinks of it?
I can only give you a general answer with a few questions to ask yourself. First, when you say you want to add a sentence it often means more than just adding a sentence. If it's important enough to add, then is it optimized content? That is, are there keywords for search engines? Is the info supported elsewhere in your content? Will it bear repetition, or expansion? How does it affect the work?
You have to decide that. You're a reader too. Add the sentence and check if it's a clear statement. Does it support or clarify the rest of the content? Is it a new idea that needs its own support? Is it really a simple sentence?
Are you concerned about matching the writer's "voice"? Most content that you pay for has a pretty neutral tone. If this is supporting info, then structure your sentence the same as the others. I guess I'm just saying that if it really is a simple sentence you can probably do it yourself. Again, ask yourself if it's just a simple sentence.
If you need to go back to your content writer, it may be a free fix. Bold your addition and e-mail it. If this isn't a freelancer the writer might have to charge. You're aware of your contract: Was it per word, hourly, or per page? I'd call it (less than) an hour's work at a standard $50/hour. The writer may cut you a break at $25. Again, if it's really as simple as you say.
