Local diction can make following directions tough.

But a foreign accent can be even worse.

I once rented an old service station to use as a shop, and a neighbor from across the street told me an anecdote about the former owner.

A pair of ladies from abroad stopped at the station on their way to Yellowstone Park. She asked the owner if he had a rest room.
Unused to her accent, he thought she requested a whisk broom, and replied:

"Yeah. I have one around here someplace, but I haven't used it for years. But if you want to back your car up, I'll blow it out with the air hose."

Just guessing that autocorrect is probably responsible for this.

In the state where I previously lived this was is a conversation I had more than once:

Me: May I borrow a pen?

Other person: What kind?

Me: Any kind will do.

Other person: An ink pin or a pin you put in your clothes?

Or

Other person: I need a pin.

Me: I’ve got some, a safety pin or a straight pin?

Other person: Not THAT kind of pin, an ink pin!!

LOL!!!!!Compare the strength of Western Culture, marriage, birthrates, strength from 1700 to 1965 and 1965 until today and you tell me which group is more intelligent. Western Civilization since the late 60's is in a literal death spiral, it's peoples and nations dying because they're on a steady diet of Frankfurt School, Marxist, Communist, Zionist brainwashing but the people falling for it are oh so intelligent. Keep telling your self that and see where it ends. IQ is more relevant in fact on the macro scale then the micro. - IRONYYYYYYYYY!
