Let's never forget, however, that the most stalwart men and most feminine women are in Wyoming.

Here in Pinedale we have our own small high-quality microbrewery if you're into beer (one of them won Gold at a World Beer Fest), a couple other nice restaurants, a nice little grocery store, hardware store, outdoors shops, and other things.
....................
............Pinedale, Wyoming.............let me tell you a short story about Pinedale, Wyoming......................In my opinion and experience in traveling all over Wyoming and about (9) other Rocky Mountain states from about 1965 through to present day.............Pinedale had (and probably still has) some of the kindest folks you'll ever find!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For almost forty years, my job entailed contacting and working with 95% of all the mining, timber and large industrial operations in: WY; MT; ID; UT; CO; N.M.; AZ; WA & OR.

In May of 1980 my late wife and I were making our last trip from CO to the Bitterroot Valley in western Montana-------we were moving!!!!!!! We were driving a 3/4 ton 1977 4WD P.U. (loaded with some special items we didn't trust to the movers)...and pulling a horse trailer with one of our most treasured possessions:.....our 20 yr old registered Half Arabian mare. (she utilmately lived to the age of 32!!)......We stopped at the Motel that I had stayed at.... (on the right as you were north bound into town--can't remember the name)....many times before, registered and then asked the motel owner if he might suggest where I could "board my horse over night" rather that keep her in the trailer overnight. He got on the phone, called the local Vet (DVM) who suggested I go back south out of town a couple of miles and stop at the ranch on the right (which had a certain type of gate that I was to look for.)

I found the ranch, met the owner and he said he'd be happy to put my horse up for the night with her own paddock area and a nice clean stall and plenty of good hay.

Next morning when I went back out to pick her up, I asked how much I owed him........: His reply was:.."Son, I won't take a dime!........it's the least I can do for you folks". I tried to insist, but he would not allow me to pay........and said anytime we come that way with a horse, he'd be glad to take care of her............at almost age 81 my memory is not too clear, but I think he was a close friend of the Vet (DVM) in town.....but I could be wrong. He also suggested a restaurant in town for breakfast.

I always liked Pinedale a lot and if I were 30 yrs younger right now.......................I wouldn't hesitate to move to that area.

(NOTE:....I should also mention that on one trip through that area back in 1967 I stopped at a very old log building ("The Trading Post") at Hoback Junction and bought a very nice Indian made Belt Buckle that I am wearing as I type this. Also bought a large "Beaver Pelt" (in a Willow Hoop) that is hanging over my fireplace mantel................................Wyoming & Montana...............The two best states in the Union!!!!

You could start with Cheyenne. Alot of things take place there, as it is the capital, and the largest city.

Montana Griz,

That sounds about right for Pinedale! The people here are wonderful. Northbound into town on the right, hmm...Half-Moon Lodge? Teton Court motel? Log Cabin Motel? All nice little places...Anyway, I'm pretty sure that ranch is still operated by the same family...oh and the Indian Trading Post in Hoback Junction is still there! (I think it's the same one...) Still lots of friendly people who will help you out in a pinch and not ask for anything in return.

Funny...stumbled upon this thread. We are looking to acquire a dental practice in Wyoming, but don't know where to go. A lot will depend on what practice becomes available as the older dentists retire.

I wouldn't be looking for something like a dental practice on the Wyoming at Work website. Jobs are there, but not such things as dental practices. Your best bet would be to get in touch with some Wyoming dental offices or the Wyoming Dental Association.
