I know the CMS schools with language immersion but am having hard time locating some in Rock Hill or Fort Mill.

Is your child currently being taught a foriegn language? and if so, when did they begin?

I'd love to have my children learning in kindergraten.

Have you tried an after school program too for it?

thanks

My kids go to Fort Mill elementary and they are taught spanish from Kindergarten. Now while it sounded great to me the reality is they get it only 1 time per 4 day cycle and only half a years worth. When we came out and checked into schools they had a whole different set up then they do now. They have really cut back ( although they say they have not) on the extra's with Art and Spanish only being given 1/2 the year and Technology alternated with guidence so cutting those number of classes as well.

Don't get me wrong I do like the school- it is a little strict though , but I am getting involved in hopes of changing that. It just is if you have a particular area you would like your kids to learn other then the norm you may want to add outside activities/classes.

I had hoped to find a Russian teacher down here for my kids (ages 4 and 3). They went to a Russian-led daycare in NoNJ and spoke it fluently. I taught myself a few important phrases to try to keep it up, but for the most part since we've been down here they've completely forgotten it. So sad. However, they ARE learning Spanish, which I guess is better than nothing.

My wife may be able to provide assistance. She has a masters degree in lnguistics. She is a native russian and has been an interpreter in the US for 14 years. She has assisted people in our area who have adopted children from Russia. Please PM me and I will pass the information to my wife. We can also put you in touch with families that have young children who speak russian and english fluently. This is not an advertisement, but a genuine offer to try and help you.

I know this post is from 10 yrs ago, but I am searching for someone to help my 8yr old twin girls continue their Russian. We've had 4 Au Pairs live with us and teach them since they were born. I am looking for an after school tutor or assistance to help them stay fluent. Any suggestions in Rock Hill, SC or Fort Mill, SC? Thank you!
