Description: Thanks to the success of the Emilio Estevez movie The Mighty Ducks and its subsequent sequels, the Walt Disney Company founded the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in 1993 and was the first bona fide tenant of the Anaheim Arena, eventually renamed Arrowhead Pond and now known as the Honda Center. After the Walt Disney Company sold the team in 2005, its name was shortened by the new owners to simply the Anaheim Ducks. Part of the National Hockey League, the Ducks play October through April.
