Description: A favorite of Yale students, York Street Noodle is affordable and yummy. The small restaurant is up the stairs from the street, across from the Yale Rep. The menu is rich with Asian fare: dim sum, salad, rice selections, and, of course, an ample selection of noodle and soup dishes, each under $8, many under $6. Dumplings are available steamed or fried; rice offerings include spicy basil rice with chicken, beef, or seafood. Choose your noodles from thin or thick wonton, rice, or vermicelli. The Vietnamese noodle soup and coconut curry choices are all excellent. The bowls are deep, the noodles are plenty, and the broth steams with aromatic spice. Noodles stand up on their own in dishes like Spicy Mee Yok, wonton noodles and veggies tossed with hot sesame sauce. Go for one of the 25 selections of bubble tea, most under $3.
