Description: Even in restaurant-packed Bethesda, Le Vieux Logis makes you do a double take. That’s because it looks like a slice of Alsace with its half-timbered facade and flower-filled window boxes. Flowers are everywhere, and what a nice greeting! Inside, there are other reminders of Alsace in the cooking, which has a somewhat German accent; for example, many of the meat dishes are paired with sauces that contain fruit or mustard. Mushrooms are used liberally in both appetizers and main courses. Try the mushroom soup, a creamy concoction with a haunting flavor. If seafood’s your fancy, you’ll find several dishes infused with citrus. They are lighter than the meat dishes and also very good. This is interesting, unusual French cuisine, and you won’t find a more pleasant setting. They serve dinner nightly except for Sunday.
