Description: Watch a world-premiere musical at BAPA’s Imagination Stage sponsored by the children’s theater of the Bethesda Academy of Performing Arts (BAPA). The children’s theater formerly occupied a small performing space at White Flint shopping mall but recently opened a large complex in nearby Bethesda. In addition to housing two theaters, the new building also features performing arts classrooms, a gift shop, and a cafe. Imagination Stage presents six productions per season, ranging from adaptations of contemporary children’s stories such as Junie B. Jones & A Little Monkey Business to multicultural folktales like Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughters. The organization also offers drama classes and camp as well as a performing company of hearing-impaired teens. Performance times are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday through Friday, 3:30 p.m. Saturday, and 12:30 and 3:30 p.m. Sunday. An admission fee applies. The adjacent public parking lot is free on weekends.
