Description: This independent, nondenominational Christian school uses curricula from a variety of sources, including published Christian curricula and staff-generated activities based on a classical model of education. As a Christian school, they believe that students should learn to integrate their faith and values, based on rigorous Bible study, throughout all their studies. The school serves youngsters from prekindergarten through high school. Children attend one formal chapel service a week plus two student-led events. Learning is based on the classical triumvirate of grammar, dialectic, and rhetoric—a sequence designed to help the youngsters learn, reason, and persuade. Studies include traditional core courses. Instruction in Latin begins at the kindergarten level. High school students take a rigorous college-preparatory course and can elect to add studies in rhetoric, economics, Greek, and Hebrew. Art and music are an integral component of the curriculum. Additional opportunities exist for participation in journalism, choir, drama, and student leadership. Development of strong character is a major goal.Ninety percent of the graduates go on to college, and some enter the military. There was one National Merit finalist in the 2009 graduating class. The school is a member of the Association of Classical Christian Schools. Tuition for grades 1 through 5 (2009–2010) was $4,450; for grades 9 through 12 it was $5,800. Scholarships are available. Uniforms are required.
