Description: With its all-American menu plus a soupçon of south of the border, the Full Moon Cafe has been pleasing Tulsans for over 20 years. Favorite items include their “famous” tortilla soup, a thick and creamy soup topped with crispy-fried flour tortilla strips, gobs of cheese, and a dollop of guacamole. Another high-demand item is the Chicken Margarita Salad—a bowl of mixed greens topped with cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese, Roma tomatoes, and a seven-ounce chicken breast that has been marinated in margarita butter. Steaks and burgers are popular and, of course—this is Oklahoma —chicken-fried steak.Kudos to Full Moon for adding a “Moonlite” section to its menu. Bunless burgers, lite wraps, and grilled tuna and salmon fillets help those who are waist-watching.Lots of the customers are regulars from the neighborhood. Live music is presented every night except Monday, and in football season Mondays become football nights. Thurs, Fri, and Sat, customers crowd in to enjoy dueling pianos. Taking it to another level, one piano is black with orange Oklahoma State University logos and the other is red with University of Oklahoma emblems. The rivalry is all in fun and the guests really get into the spirit with school songs rivaling the rock ’n’ roll.The Full Moon actually has two complete bars. One is inside, the other out. This is the only place in Tulsa with patio dining and a full bar outside. Smoking is allowed on the patio but not inside.The Full Moon serves lunch and dinner seven days a week and adds breakfast on Sat and Sun.
