Description: The El Paso Times is the primary English-language newspaper for El Paso, founded in 1881 by Marcellus Washington Carrico. It originally started out as a weekly but within only a year’s time, it became the daily newspaper for the frontier town. The newspaper has a current daily circulation of around 73,000 and 88,400 on Sun and is currently the only English-language daily in El Paso, but often competes with the Spanish-language El Diario de El Paso.The El Paso Times prints a morning edition daily, which is delivered to subscribers by 6 a.m. Mon through Fri, 7 a.m. Sat, and 7:30 a.m. Sun. The El Paso Times prints news in several sections that include coverage of local, national, Mexican, and international news; a Borderland section that covers metro, neighborhood, New Mexico, and Texas news; a Sports section with local and national sports and an emphasis on high-school and UTEP coverage; a Business section; and a Living section, which has local and national feature stories including rotating sections covering seniors, religion, pop culture, the arts, books, health, home decor, entertainment news, local music, and fashion. Tiempo is a weekly entertainment supplement published on Fri that includes concerts, movies, galleries, restaurant reviews, and other entertainment-related stories. The Eastside Reporter is a small publication specifically covering events and stories about businesses and people making a difference on the Eastside of El Paso.
