Description: Anyone that appreciates microbrews and craft beers must pay a visit to Jaxon’s. This restaurant and microbrewery has a rotating selection of their own house-made beers. Though Jaxon’s “King” margaritas and signature cocktails are regarded as some of the best in the region, the real star here is, of course, the beer. Jaxon’s is the fourth oldest brew pub in the state of Texas and pours a variety of award–winning handcrafted ales and lagers. Regularly at Jaxon’s, you’ll find they offer an American–style lager, an amber ale, a brown ale, and one of the milkiest stouts you’ll ever come across. Rosa’s Raspberry Ale is a truly unique fruit beer with a truly El Paso name. The atmosphere at Jaxon’s is all you would expect from a modern microbrewery— relaxed and friendly with a heavy emphasis on good beer and food (see the entry in the Restaurants chapter, p. 66). You may opt to sit in the dining areas or on stools at high tables in an attached bar, where a long bronze bar counter overlooks windows into the brewing vat rooms. A second and third location are located far Northwest at 4799 North Mesa St. (915-544-1188), and on the Westside at 7410 Remcon Circle (915-845-6557). All three locations have a bar and free wireless Internet access.
