Description: Convenient to both I-64 and the Historic Area, the most interesting facet of this upscale hotel’s location is how close it was to the action 150 years ago: it sits on the site of the Civil War’s 1862 Battle of Williamsburg. With 303 guest rooms, this is one of the larger hotels in the area and a popular conference location. Visitors can gaze at an actual redoubt from the earthworks of Fort Magruder on the hotel’s grounds and examine Civil War artifacts on display in the hotel lobby. The 26,000 square feet of conference space honors the location’s role in the War Between the States with meeting rooms named Lee’s Redoubt, Grant’s Redoubt, and one that always stops first-time visitors in their tracks: Hooker’s Redoubt—named for the Union general. All guest rooms have cable TV and complimentary high-speed Internet access.
