Description: The annual Seattle Jewish Film Festival (SJFF) is a 10-day international cinematic exploration and celebration of Jewish life, culture, identity, and history. SJFF uses the magical medium of film to both entertain and educate the Jewish and general communities about complex issues facing Jewish people and world communities alike, while challenging conventional perspectives. Screenings are supplemented by guest speakers, providing a dynamic forum for dialogue with actors, filmmakers, academics, and expert panelists from near and far. In recent years, SJFF offerings have included musical and comedy performances, curated exhibits, and thematic educational opportunities and special events. Some 8,000 attendees cast their ballots for Best Feature, Best Documentary, and Best Short Film, with winners receiving the SJFF Audience Choice Award on Closing Night. Individual screening tickets are $8–$18, with passes from $65 to $200. The Tom Douglas pre-party, Matzoh Momma Sunday brunch, and Closing Night are all sold separately. For the most part, screenings are held at the Cinerama Theatre and the SIFF Cinema at McCaw Hall; special events are at various locations.
