3-501.17(B) - --On the counter in the kitchen there is a ziploc bag with ready-to-eat turkey dogs (removed from their original package) that is dated as being opened 1/6/16. Upon speaking with the kitchen manager, she said that this was the date the turkey dogs were removed from the freezer, thawed, and opened. They were not all used, so they refroze the rest of the hot dogs. She pulled them from the freezer on Monday (1/18/16) to use today. Corrected on Site (COS) - these were removed from the package and heated to be served with today's lunch. Spoke with the kitchen manager about freezer dates and updating the dates any time the items are put into/removed from the freezer. She said she would be certain to do this in the future.
KDA_4_90411B - --In the dining area there is a bucket of unwrapped plastic forks. The kitchen manager said these utensils are for the students to grab as they go through the lunch line. The forks have the handles facing multiple directions so that when a student is grabbing one fork by the handle, they may touch the food/lip contact surface of another. Let the kitchen manager know that these need to presented so that students will only touch the handles when they are grabbing their silverware.
