Georgia Pacific Museum

Georgia Pacific Museum in Fort Bragg, California is one of the area's museums. This particular one was started in order to tell the story of lumbering in California. As most know the redwood forests have always been a good resource for California in the lumbering industry. The artifacts on display at the museum center on this special interest industry.

Visitors can find saws, lumber milling tools, and other tools in the museum. They can also learn the history of the workers in the industry. Some of the displayed items name individuals, where others are left unknown. Photographs, documents, and other archived materials are also shown to help visitors see what life was like in the early days of lumbering and what it is like now. There is a section devoted to conservation. California is a premier state for going "green", which means their forests are highly important to residents. Visitors are able to learn what measures are being taken such as restrictions on how much lumber can be taken from California's forests each year per how much has to be replanted.

The Georgia Pacific Museum depicts the history of Georgia Pacific Mill which is no longer working. Also, the museum is known as the Guest House Museum.
