I hate birthdays! Mine at least. I especially hate this birthday! I'm far away from home, I miss my mama, my brothers, my pets. I want to be with people who care about me and who show it. No, I dont want to be pampered, I just want someone to get me a cake at least!

The current plan is to buy in the Ozarks.

I will be staying in a lakeside lodge in the Ozarks beginning in October of this year.

I think what I'm dealing with is how to let Kansas City go.

I know the Ozarks suits my personality and lifestyle much better, but I feel so comfortable in Kansas City that it makes it hard to leave.

That's what I'm hoping this blog can accomplish for me is sorting through the conflicted feelings.

I keep going between settling in the Missouri Ozarks or Kansas City with a bit of Saint Louis thrown in.

I'm saving up for a house to buy outright. It'll be a couple of years before I have the right amount, although I could buy an inexpensive place in either KC or STL within the year.

This is the deal. Kansas City is home. Pure and simple. I feel at home there. That's a very important feeling. But I'm not totally a city person. I've lived in plenty of cities, but...

I'm going to keep a blog here because it's appropriate to what I'm doing right now.

Instead of a controlled blog where I'm super picky about everything I post and how often and so on and so forth, I'm going to try and keep this as a free-for-all to get my impressions down as they happen.

I think if I do it more open, honest and organic, I might make some headway and gain greater insight than if I stick my typical control all over it.
