  • Garbage properly handled & disposed; containers properly maintained
    Dumpster is rusted and top lid is missing. Contact dumpster company to replace dumpster.
  • Non-food contact surfaces clean
    GC Clean bottom of refrigeration units.
  • Proper cold holding temperatures
    GC Creamer/half & half dispenser was not working properly. When cold holding, potentially hazardous foods must be maintained at 45 For below. Dispenser was taken out of service.
  • Storage spaces clean, storage above floor; approved storage for mops, brooms, hoses & other items
    GC Do not use crates for shelving. Use the approved shelving provided and keep items off the floor.
  • Hands clean and properly washed
    GC Employees shall wash their hands thoroughly in a hand washing lavatory before starting work, after smoking, after each visit to the toilet, and as often as may be necessary to remove soil and contamination.
  • Toxic substances properly identified, stored, used
    GC Label chemical bottles correctly.
  • Proper hot holding temperatures
    GC The two tornados in hot holding roller were 120-130 F. When hot holding potentially hazardous food, maintain temperature at 135 F or above. Product discarded by manager.
  • Food & non-food contact surfaces easily cleanable & in good repair
    Repair leaking drain at ice machine and under the 3 compartment sink.
  • Floors, walls, ceilings properly constructed, clean, in good repair
    Repair or replace damaged ceiling tiles. Repair any water leaks that are damaging ceiling tiles. Replaced floor tiles that are damaged.
  • Food contact surfaces cleaned & sanitized; approved methods and sanitizers
    Sanitizer was not available and 3 comp. sink is not clean. Sanitizer must be available and maintained at a strength of 50 ppm when chlorine sanitizer is used. Chlorine bleach used for sanitizing must be unscented. Soda machine nozzles needed additional cleaning. The ice bin on top of the ice machine must be drained, cleaned and sanitized by the manufacturers specifications. Call Tony Williams at 703-3161 when these items are corrected. Correct within 10 days.

    Test strips must be provided for checking sanitizer strength.
  • Thermometers provided and accurate
    Thermometer for checking food temperatures was not available. A metal stem-type thermometer accurate to 2F (1 C) shall be available to check food temperatures. A thermometer measuring 0 220 F is needed to check both cold and hot holding food temperatures. Use thermometer on a regular basis to ensure proper food temperatures.
  • Toilet and lavatory facilities; supplied, properly constructed, clean, good repair, signs provided
    Towels were not available at back hand wash sink. Corrected during inspection. Toilets and lavatories must be properly cleaned. Lavatories must be properly caulked to the wall. The base of the toilets must be caulked with a cleanable caulk. Repair leak at toilet in mens bathroom.

    Clean the fronts, sides, and legs of equipment, inside refrigeration units, metal shelving, piping under sinks, etc.
  • In-use utensils properly stored
    Do not store hot dog tongs under the roller grill. The tongs must be stored so that they do not become contaminated.
  • Floors, walls, ceilings properly constructed, clean, in good repair
    Floors must be cleaned around corners and behind equipment. Ceiling tiles must be in good repair. The ceiling tiles must be of a smooth, washable type. Walls must be clean and free from holes.
  • Storage spaces clean, storage above floor; approved storage for mops, brooms, hoses & other items
    Items must be stored 12"" off the floor on stationary shelving and 6"" off the floor on mobile shelving to facilitate proper floor cleaning.
  • Thermometers provided and accurate
    No thermometer was provided for the checking of food temperatures. A thermometer that is accurate to within 2 degrees must be provided for checking food temperatures.
  • Food service equipment and utensils approved
    Replace the shelving that is in bad repair inside the reach in cooler. The drink machine drain is leaking and must be repaired.

    Test strips must be provided for checking sanitizer strength.

    The can wash basin must be clean and the can wash must be operable. Clean up the crates and other items from the backside of the building.

    The drink nozzles must be cleaned to remove heavy mold buildup. The ice bin on top of the ice machine must be drained, cleaned and sanitized by the manufacturers specifications. No sanitizer was provided inside the spray bottles today. An approved sanitizing solution must be provided for sanitizing of food contact surfaces. REPEAT VIOLATION. There was some question as to the proper sanitizing procedure at the 3 compartment sink. The sink must be clean and items must be washed, rinsed, and sanitized.

    The sneeze guard is not installed properly to protect food. The sneeze guard must have a guard piece on the side and be lowered to an acceptable height.

    Cleaning is needed throughout underneath and beside most equipment.
  • Non-food contact surfaces clean
    General cleaning is needed throughout pay special attention to the tops and sides of equipment, cabinets, and other storage areas.
  • Toilet and lavatory facilities; supplied, properly constructed, clean, good repair, signs provided
    Reattach the hand sink to the wall and re-caulk it. The men's room had no soap.
  • Storage spaces clean, storage above floor; approved storage for mops, brooms, hoses & other items
    Store items above the floor to facilitate proper floor cleaning.
  • Garbage properly handled & disposed; containers properly maintained
    The can wash area must be cleaned and maintained properly. There is still debris present in the can wash, this was not corrected from the previous inspection. The dumpster door was also found open.

    There were no hair restraints provided today. Hair restraints must be worn when preparing food or washing utensils.

Was visiting friends in N.C from N.Y went to this gas station to begin with employees where rude one of them even offered to quote " pop me" worse place ever
