I resemble that remark However, I do know how to check fluids and to put air in tires. I know what a "bad" noise is...and I know to at least check for leaks under the hood and ground. Other than that...I'm an idiot

I would just want to know whether it was a car I was comfortable driving. I wouldn't be able to detect mechanical difficulties unless they were obvious, but some cars just don't seem to drive well for me. I've never been comfortable driving my fish truck---can't really explain why. My truck in Oregon is the same kind and I love driving it.

I know...just kidding around. But I get the overall meaning. Most of us...know when something doesn't sound right or drive right. For example: knocking noise...no oil or bad engine, maybe both, or the body in the trunk. Some of us...are clueless and never get anything checked until it dies.

I think you're full of crap, and I think you started posting here about your move trying to gain a bit of trust, hoping that people with a car for sale will message you.

BTW, did the place on Roland Road work out for you?
Hi,

edit entire post..

Are you kidding me? You think I am posting here in hopes that someone here will pm me with a car for sale?

Perhaps you think that deviantly but, I am pretty straight.

I think you loose the expectation for me to answer any of your questions, especially a personal one related to where my apartment will be, once you say that you think I am full of crap.

Jen
p.s. if I had found a car that was likely to be purchase I was planning to ask my landlords if they'd consider a test drive. I wasn't planning on wasting their time, it was only a consideration to ask them, besides, buying a car for under 2K was a risk I was willing to take to get me through the winter versus renting a car but, what do you care?

Whatever you do and however you get it done...just BE CAREFUL! Good Luck.

Yes, I think it's possible that's what you're doing. Your insistence on paying for a car that you don't even know exists via a "transfer of funds" is pretty big red flag and even on the off chance that you aren't full of crap but just extremely stupid, people still need to know that this type of scam exists. And despite your assertions in an earlier post that nothing can be done with account and routing numbers, people need to know that that's another untruth on your part.

It really doesn't cost much to rent a car for a couple of days while looking around for one to buy. If you can't afford to do that...perhaps you need to rethink this move. And really, I'd be embarrassed to request that people I don't even know (potential landlords) do my errands for me.

Maybe you are straight. And maybe you're just a petty little scammer trying to pull in a few bucks by selling personal info. I have no way of really knowing. But what you're trying to do does exist as a scam on CL almost to the letter. Because of that fact alone, you shouldn't take it so personally when anyone questions you or isn't willing to trust you.

"Scammer" is actually the more charitable explanation for that plan for obtaining a vehicle. The other option is that you actually thought it was a good idea and would go over well with sellers.

Thank you,

There has been good advice hidden in this thread and I appreciate it. Will definately be careful.

Careful including not telling internet strangers where my apartment is!
