Rance! You continue to amaze with your works. This is your excellent series of aurora borealis. What shutter speed and aperture did you set?

Nice shots guys!

It's been a long time since I last saw the Aurora-looks like last night was a good night for lights!

Well for about 30 minutes is all...then it clouded up and started snowing. I still don't think I like the 20mm lens. Might be ok in complete darkness...but it sure amplifies the light pollution.
Anymore lights this week will be shot with the 18-70mm at F/3.5, 20 to 25 second exposures so I can do a little comparison. I may only use the 20mm down around the house where it's darker and less light intensity.

About 2 years ago we saw the lights for 3 or 4 days in a row. Mostly green ones but one night we were coming home late and they were all shades of reds/pinks but by the time we got home and got the camera out, they were fading. We drove up to the top of Warren Peak, but byt he time we reached the top, they were gone. We waited for probably an hour and gave up. The next day, we were all ready and of course, no lights. Such is my luck.
