Nice ice road shots Warpt.
I take you're a Ski-Doo fan, are there any of the old Alpines still working there?
Those were one heck of a workhorse, single ski with dual tracks.

OMG! The aurora photos are beautiful! Bear with me, I'm still new here. What are the lights in the photo? Where are you, Rance? A few years back the lights were so awesome up here/down here. I'd take my little Amish rocker, my down comforter and my schnapps to the top of the drive with my phone and talk to Kitty who was doing the same at the top of her drive. They were right above the cabin and with the yellow lights shining through the windows and show all around, it was a postcard scene. Now I have a camera that could probably take the picture but there hasn't been much activity this winter. Lots of bright, star-filled, clear, cold nights tho. My favorite.

Love the iceroad photos too

And the ice road photos Warpt. Where the hell is Kewthluk? Here's a bit of snowmachine fun on the Stikine.

And walking on water

I recognized the person being pulled, they were on their way up to McGrath for the weekend. I'm not sure how far they got. I called his house after I took the pictures and his wife told me the story. They went home and picked up the other snowmachine and went back up.

Last Ocober, I stayed at the old Head Start building in Kwethluk installing the pay-as-you-go house meters. Not a very popular guy when I'm doing a new install. Kwethluk is about a 20 minute flight east of Bethel. Maybe 20 minutes, if you get the urge after you take off. It might be that it only SEEMS like 20 minutes.

20 minutes? In a 172 maybe. More like 10-15 minutes. I have pictures of the village somewhere.
