Thanks for the input Ray. I'm not sure about how much light I'll have to work with though...I'll be there the last week in August and the first two weeks of September.

Warp, what's this settlement's name? Where is it in Alaska? I am very interested to see an ordinary towns in Alaska. It is very similar to our ones in Chukotka. Thank you.

This is my hometown Bethel, Ak. We are about 400 miles west of Anchorage, maybe 200 miles south from Nome, somewhere around there.

Sorry if I offended you. I'm not quite fluent in English. Probably I used the word "ordinary" not so correct. Of course, each place is unique in its kind. The same thing I can say about any settlement and town of Chukotka, especially about my hometown Anadyr sity.

Oh, there was no insult taken. Just many of the Alaskan towns have a different flavor to them which is all good, you just need to be there to see each one and what they have to offer. Some towns people don't like becase of the cold, rain, trees or no trees. They all have something good and a charm of there own.

I'm totally agreed with you. The same can be said of the Chukotka. We in Russia have a felicitous phrase " infected with the North." Who lived in Chukotka, he is forever "infected the North." I am sure the same can be said about Alaska.

It can be said the photo on-line of Anadyr city, made a few minutes ago with camera of mobile phone. Of course, pic quality is very poor.
