I have to drive back down to Sterling town on Saturday. This could be fun.

I remember when I was in Michigan it would snow, rain, then go below zero, so everything was coated with ice. From what I am reading here, it does that in Ak too.
It was cold last week and we had snow on the ground. It warmed up and rained and all the roads became slick. School was cancelled due to warmth...seriously. Too warm for school!

Our 4-6" of snow yesterday turned into 12-15" by the time I got home here in SE AK. Had to clear the driveway in order to get the cars off the street. Snow turned to rain this AM. The commute to work was an experience. I changed lanes once and it took about a half mile to do it. Any faster would've put me into the ditch. There was just enough slush on the highway between the tracks to make you go where it wanted you to go.

Looks like they are closing Girdwood school today. And maybe Seward. A school bus has over turned in the Valley already this morning.

Freezing rain on black ice. That's nice...

Not sure how much snow we got last night, maybe 8-10 inches. It was raining when I woke up. Just went for a walk around town to run some errands and see how bad it is. It's bad. Glare ice under a good six inches of water and slush. Went from 5F to 35F since yesterday, too. City's out in force trying to deal with it, but it's a solid mess.

No much difference in Fairbanks. Today the temperature reached maybe 14 degrees, then it cooled toward the evening. It may get to the teens for a couple of days, but no rain.

Got another inch of snow overnight...and it's nearly 30 degrees this morning. Perfect winter weather.

Somewhere around two feet since last night. Nice snow, too. Wish it wasn't the beginning of the week!
