I learned to drive on roads like these, mostly the back roads, hard packed snow almost ice. I remember as a kid aiming for the dry pavement patches just so I had at least 1 tire grabbing something every so often.

Our first day of icy roads today here in T town. The Turnpike has actually closed for accidents, one major freeway with a 14 car pileup, I'm on the other major freeway counting 7 ditch divers, going 20 mph. And the roads aren't even bad, the snow didn't stick and were sprayed with brine, just a couple little spots with black ice
