The number of people with managed retirement accounts in the USA pales in comparison to those without.

Well when you are on welfare, you don't need one. Most people that work have some kind of 401K plan, or Roth.

"[i]f you were affected in Louisiana," said Brian O'Neill, an attorney with the firm Faegre & Benson, "to use a legal term, you are just f--ked."
More than any attorney in the country, O'Neill personally understands the implications of that imprecise legal term. For more than two decades, he represented fishermen in civil cases related to the now second-most-damaging spill in U.S. history: the Exxon Valdez spill in 1989.

Exxon Valdez Lawyer: Louisianans, 'To Use A Legal Term,' Are 'Just F--ked'

Not only in Louisiana. BP claims they're now capturing a good portion of the oil. Viewing the live feed, it looks like even more oil is spewing out than before they put their band-aid on this spewing artery of oil.

Seems BP might be engaging in a massive cover up:

"Matt Simmons, one of the largest investment bankers in the energy industry appeared on Bloomberg. The chairman of Simmons & Co. INTL went on to explain that there is much more to the oil leak than the news has been reporting. Last Sunday, NOAA confirmed reports of a second fissure about 5-7 miles from the original. This new fissure appears to be releasing a plume the size of Delaware and Maryland combined! He went on to state that “the plume from the riser is minor thing… the best estimate is about 120,000 barrels of oil per day”."

If this were true, the total oil leaked thus far could be somewhere in the neighborhood of 500 million gallons.

I'd think anyone trying to appear as an expert on any subject would at least hit spell check before posting.

The Spill, The Scandal and the President

The inside story of how Obama failed to crack down on the corruption of the Bush years – and let the world's most dangerous oil company get away with murder

The Spill, The Scandal and the President | Rolling Stone Politics

Its a fairly long story but worth the read. BP should be banned from any type of participation in the oil business -- forever.
