The reader comments that follow the article are priceless.

But anyway...

I bought a 12-er of Longboard Lager when summer began and try as I might, I'm just not digging it. I am really digging some Hangar 24 Helles Lager, however.

It's my favorite time of the year for beer. I bought some Saranac Pumpkin Ale and a Sam Adams Harvest 12-pack. I'll go back and get a 12-pack of Octoberfest. I tried the Harvest Saison. It's a good beer.

I don't think I've actually posted my faves/ non faves yet.

Favorites: Most sweet stouts (Samuel Smith's oatmeal stout, Drake's crude oatmeal stout, left hand milk stout, duck-rabbit milk-stout), and stuff like Sam Adams Cream Stout and Boston Ale. Also can never go wrong with Sierra Nevada.

I really hate most malt liquors and light lagers like Coors Light, Keystone, Bud Light, Miller High Life, etc. I will drink malt liquors occasionally if looking for a cheap buzz....like tonight lol.

I can add Sam Adams Harvest Pumpkin Ale to my love list. Damn that';s a good beer. Shame there's only 2 in the Harvest Collection pack. I'm drinking a Boston Lager now and it's okay.

That is indeed a good beer. I think Sam Adams is having a very good year for Harvest beers. The Pumpkin and Octoberfest are both very good this year, and the Harvest Saison is really good too. I just bought another Harvest 12-pack.

I got some Shipyard Pumpkinhead last week. I have to say that this year's offering is not nearly as good as it has been in the past.

Saranac has their Pumpkin Ale in 32 ox. bottles in some areas priced quite reasonably.
