Id drink my homebrew anytime before a commercian beer, but I do love microbrews. The good thing about homebrew is that you can never make a colourless, tasteless and ordorless beer like the big three (Bud, Miller, Coors)
I love Hefeweizen, it's a wheat beer with a very mild hint of clove and banana - it's seasonal when brewed but you can buy bottled to. You definitely want it fresh brewed though - way better. My fiance homebrews so I was kind of already a beer snob and this has made it worse LOL - I can't remember the last time I drank a bottle store bought beer although, I do love German beers and one of my favorite bottled is Hacker Pshorr. (sp?) good stuff. Great flavor. If you can find this one at your local brewery, you must try it - Le Tete Fontaine. it's so delicious! And the alcohol content is 8.1!!!
Oooh and Raspberry Mead Ale - ABV is 9.6!!!
Of my least favs - I'm going to have to say the usual, Bud, Coors, Miller, etc... I'm really into my microbrews.
On the flip side, I love a good vodka martini!! Chocolate or Apple please!!
I like anything made in accordance with the German Beer Purity Law - the rice beers can be OK but too bland for my taste.
Particularly like Obalon, made in Kiev, Company "Obolon" in the world and Baltica, BALTIKA :: Russian Beer beer is as good as the website. Particularly #6 dark, but, I like a dark. #9 is essentially a malt liquor, it's good, but packs a hell of a punch. In the US you'll find Baltica mostly in the East and Northeast. Here it's rather expensive but in Russia it's pretty reasonable, a real bargain considering the quality.
