I'm a white wine drinker. I'd recommend trying Bordeaux Wines! I just got a 2007 Chateau Magneau from Bordeaux at Whole Foods a few days back and I really like it so far! They have a ton of other great options at their website too: Life Goes Better With Bordeaux

#1 Gerwurztraminer: I only know it's my favorite due to wine tasting at vineyards: an illuminating experience!

#2 Dry Reisling. The regular reisling is rather sweet. I usually don't like dry wines but the combination of the two terms sounded intriguing & I've found I enjoy the dry reisling more than the regular.

I highly recommend visiting at least one winery. The one time I went wine tasting, we went with an aunt who brought french bread & cheese. We did our tasting at a couple of wineries then had a light bread & cheese picnic snack with a bottle of wine outside one of the wineries under the trees: memorable!

I was in Napa last week. The people at Peju and ZD suggested a little place that sells direct to the public. It's called Pina. There is a tilde over the "n."

I walked in and there was no granite countertop, no tourists talking like faux-experts. Just barrels and kegs and a forklift.

I spent three hours in there talking to staff, and one of the owners, getting my mind BLOWN by their reds. Changed my life.

Typically I go for big reds. Petrus, Grgich, Peju, Cask, etc. This was such a great moment of discovery, it just makes me want to get back out there and stay for, well, forever, I guess. I cannot wait for my shipment to arrive.

Sarah you would probably like Viognier and Chenin Blanc too if you like those.

Almost everything with the name "Casillero del diablo". It's wine from the Concha Y Toro-company, Chile.
Further: "2U" (Duas uvas), from Portugal, "Roodeberg", South Africa

Any wine that happens to be in wine glass. I am a wine and beer man-floozy. I will drink anything and everything. NOT A DRUNK but a man-floozy. That's how my wife said she got me to marry her. Luv you honey.

I'm a big fan of Bogle Petite Sirah. It's usually around $10 a bottle.
