Are you saying the placebo effect is not a good thing? Because I don't recall anyone casting any negative aspersions on the body's ability to heal itself, regardless of how that occurs.
What I said is very clear. Whatever causes healing is a "good thing."
People use the "placebo effect" to dismiss alternative healing claims - thus THEY lump placebo effect into the "ridiculous" category - it's a way to minimize anything that is not mainstream.
I don't think this needed to be spelled out. What was confusing?

What's confusing is your assumption that anyone who espouses traditional medicine dismisses the effects of the placebo effect, ie, the body's own ability to heal itself.
I don't live by LUCK, I live with my proactive works. And I don't appreciate being fear mongered.
Perhaps you could take that remark about the flu with the same perspective you recommend for those who don't appreciate your ongoing disparaging remarks about traditional medicine and those who use it. Ignore it if you don't like it.
I think it is confusing when you title a thread with the word Debate, but only allow one side of the debate....

It was my understanding that the Homeopathy thread was originally posted in the Great Debates section, but then was moved to the Alternative section . . . based on the TOS, I did not assume that anything in the alternative section was fair game for "debate," but now it makes more sense.
The "debaters" (on either side) have really performed
I am closing this thread because Alternative Medicine is not supposed to be about debate. It's a platform for information about alternative medicine. People can politely disagree but that's all. Once they've voiced their disagreement, they need to stop or else it amounts to being off topic and trolling. It's not about disagreement or proof.
