Maybe Kaoma's Lambada fame is to blame? Idk if the singer counts as black (she's more like mixed) but most see her as one, at least in the West. Before Kaoma the most famous "Brazillian" entertainer in the West was Carmen Miranda. A white woman, born in Portugal.
e. When many people portrays Brazilians in games is always a black capoeira fighter or a mulatta person. Many people when portrays Brazilians in games, or cartoons put a black fighter of capoeira or mulatto people. When Brazilians come in all colours and ethnicities.
i hear what you are saying, but at the same time no one wants to see Italian or German looking Brazilians. It is the African /mulato component that is the most interesting. I personally would like to learn more about Natiive Brazilians. I rarely hear anything about them.

LOL say what you want guys, but that's actually a pretty bad ass song.
I undersdant you point. Brazil is only know for African culture. I understood what she said, Brazil is really known only for African culture and they forget that Brazil was not only colonized by blacks, I also don't like this culture, but respect, although I defend the idea of valuing more roots of other ethnicities , because in Brazil there are not only people who are descended from African culture or who refer only to African culture, here we also have people from other ethnic groups who would very much like to see Brazil showing its whole face and from different roots
To be fair, one doesn’t need to look far in order to find famous Brazilians of various ethnicities. The Victoria Secret trio of Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima (she’s got a variety of backgrounds) and Gisele Bundchen. Then you’ve got the current president. Brazil is one of the most diverse countries in the world.
So do I. When you’ve got a country the size of Brazil, limiting your image to a single type does the people a great disservice.
Sure, but there is certain image that draws people to the country and that has put the country on the map. That cannot be denied. Really the samething could be said about the vast majorities of countries. Brazil is not the exception.
But why do no one wants to see Italian or German Brazilians? The image of white Brazilian don't sell. Hmm I understood. I see. In Brazilian soap operas no one wants to see black Brazilians. Outside Brazil no one wants to see white Brazilians. I see.
These are native Brazilians. The Brazilians who live in Brazil before the Portuguese Colonization.
The image of white Brazilians has been selling for ages. Seems some white Brazilians are just bothered that Black Brazilians are getting more attention now. Umm indigenous people exist across the Americas...everyone knows they exist.
Just FYI...the region was not “Brazil” until the Portuguese came.
The way Brazilian females are seen in the West now is very similar to the mammy archetype. Often seen with a head cloth like a bandana and a fruit basket. Western Media double standards as always.

To be fair and honest, the Brazilian media here does the same thing. Just watch any novella, TV show, or stop at any news stand. The image that Globo and Rede, etc cast out to the world is also one sided....
