Sorry if the question is stupid, just really would like to know a kind of average how much people spend on food here?
If you don't track the food separately, how about food AND household expenses?

(question arised due an increasing fear of shopping and subtle doubts that $400/mo is REALLY not enough!!)

We feed 7 (3 adults, 2 teens, 10, 7) and our food bill averages $1000+ per month. AND we get the benefit of shopping on base!
I have no idea how people can shop in town and NOT go broke!

I selected $600 for your poll since I'm sure that $400 would most definitely not be enough.

Question to those who answered $400 and less: where do you shop and what do you buy?

(gave me a little hope, anyway)

Perhaps, I frazed it wrong: how about some tips on good places to shop and deals to buy in groceries?
Like going to Costco, etc. (even Walmart has rased prices considerably since last year)
