The only thing you are abusing more than my patience is mathematics.

Thanks, peeps.

When I was young I was without a residence for a few months, and that experience is a real wake-up call for me about how tenuous housing really can be if you are vulnerable in one way or another. Luckily I had good friends who let me couch surf, but if I had been in a strange city far from home (like much of Anc's homeless pop is) that would not have been the case. I'm proud of myself for the life I have since built, but I also understand that I had advantages that helped me do so, and that others helped. So while I am a big advocate of self-efficacy and personal accountability, I also think it's nonsense how people dehumanize, demonize, and demean homeless people. Really the definition of punching down.

It didn't say that to me. Outstanding posts, Frostnip.

What is with this guy's fixation on the native homeless? The point of differentiating between these homeless individuals and others is...?

If he's asked any questions as to why this may be, or offered any potential remedies, I've missed them.

The native population comprises half of the homeless population in Alaska (they are only 1/4 of the population).

You don't see anything wrong with that? really?

In Alaska, one could call being native a risk factor for being homeless. But then, other risk factors for being homeless in Alaska and elsewhere seem to be: Alcoholism, mental illness, being an African American or a military veteran, a victim of abuse, and so on. And of course, some of these issues can overlap with others.

Again, what's your point with focusing on natives? Have some ideas for improving their statistics?

I sure do. I'm a self made multi-millionaire alpha male, solving problems is my specialty.

But the real question is, do you really want to have that discussion or are you going to do what you've been doing; ignore the problem, yell racism randomly, without actually addressing any points. If that's your intent, don't waste my time.
