I have to humbly say I was wrong. I've had ac on most of June, July and now August. It must have been a fluke when I first moved here.

I'm glad though. I still really like it and, surprisingly, after living in 'the land of 10,000 lakes' for most of my life, I don't miss being by water. I just love it here.

Yeah, SV isn't like Yuma where August and September are hotter than July. It's the elevation, and the fact SE AZ has a monsoon season that last days, not hours.

Yeah, it's terrific here. Keep in mind too that THIS summer has been MUCH warmer than usual.

Back home in Kansas. Had a great visit with family. The deal did not go down in Huachuca City. But, we spent two days checking out the area from Patagonia to Tombstone and from Bisbee to Tucson. People were friendly, encouraging, and helpful in Sierra Vista. May require a second visit in the winter.

I'm thankful you said that. My electric bill doubled this month. Waiting patiently for Oct and cooler weather.

My electric bill typically doubles JUN through AUG. Not too bad the rest of the year. I find OCT through MAR amazing but my wife thinks it's too "cold."

That's funny to me. Last winter/spring there were some chilly days but, coming from Minnesota the weather felt wonderful.

Sounds like your visit encompassed a wide area in only a few days. I've found I love living in southeastern Arizona. The humidity level during the monsoon is low compared to what I lived with in the Midwest, and the winter here is so mild! Please be sure to visit again

My roses are coming up spectacular this year. I have 12 different bushes and my prize so far this year is my JFK and Marilyn Monroe sort of hidden under a Mimosa tree so they can finally be alone.

Default Wind in SV

Hey Lord Balfour, I've read on some other posts that people had moved from SV towards GV and Rio Rico because of the wind and heat. I have visited sV a couple of times as we winter just north of Tucson and are considering a move to permanently locate in the SV area. Any truth to these complaints?
Also how is the "illegal" situation there now in 2021? Worst I've heard is that in rural areas they stop for water and leave the hose on and the owner wakes up to a dry well. Looking at heading down late August and with any luck not going back. Appreciate your input. Thanks
