I would live in the middle of no where in any forest of any state. Even in the middle of no where Alaska.

I have said it before and I'll say it again. Key West. As for a home. I'd rent a little trailer for $500 a month and stick the rest of the money in the bank. No way would I EVER pay $200,000 for a house, unless I had a million bucks in the bank and could pay cash for it. (Even then, I'd find something less expensive that would meet my needs well).

What I like that is important to me is 1. The Ocean, 2. an Adult-oriented environment (Key West is *definitely* not a kids destination), 3. Warm weather. I have not yet found another place that would suit me so perfectly.

You can pick up a decent house in the West Valley with pool for $200K, if that's too hot, Sierra Vista or Green Valley. I hate traffic so i'll pass on Riverside or Temecula, Maybe Banning or Hemet.

I want to see more than cactus and dirt. And I really want to know how to survive the heat in the summer.
You are not going to find that for $200,000. Maybe $250,000. You are looking for East Valley, or Flagstaff area. You are not going to see much cactus in the burbs. Those are all mostly long gone. You have to drive somewhere to see them. They are not everywhere like outsiders think they are.

Tust me the humidity here is nothing compared to the east coast...I complain when it's 46% here but it's often 90% there in the summer.

Only in the morning, and when it rains.

The heat in Arizona is not bad, you just have to learn to live in it. Do something. I was outside all day, everyday in the summer when I was growing up. Whether it be riding my bike, swimming in the irrigation canal, (yeah yeah dirty dirty,) or building my never finished tree house with my little brother. I didn't grow up in the burbs, I grew up in the middle of nowhere Buckeye, (when there was nothing but farm fields,) and poor. No money for a playstation or satellite TV. We did was old fashioned Americans did.

The heat is livable. It is not too hot for kids to play outside.
