Exactly, Yanagisawa is right. This is just like the post against china for eating dogs, which is seen as barbaric until you live in a country where not eating other living things aren't the norm, then you can't talk at all. When you eat an orange you might be hurting these poor fruit. How barbaric of you to peel the skin o the orange then eat it.

One is an animal grown specifically for food and work for centuries among many culture, including the Japanese . One is a wild animal that has been proven through science to be highly intelligent.
I fail to see how the intelligence of an animals has anything to do with whether it can be killed or not.

Americans tend to think their culture is culture (including killing animals), others killing other animals which they love and don't kill is barbaric.

Animals exist to serve man. Equating cannibalism to harvesting a large fish is foolish.
