My kids laugh at my text message conversations with friends - all largely written longhand with proper grammar and whatnot.
All my friends do this as well. I guess it's a generational thing.
My kids think it's hilarious.

They also laugh at me for still referring to songs as 'records'.
I still don't know how else to refer to them frankly.

I don't use short cuts in texting or posting either. I was a professional freelance writer - usually paid by the word. Old habits die hard.

Same here. I spell everything out and use punctuation. "U" for "you" makes me wince.

My daughter doesn't use text shorthand, either, at least not with me. She is 29.

The quote function seems to treat URLs as embeds on the first instance. Subsequent quotes, such as this one, do not seem to have the same effect.

Hmmm. Maybe that’s why I thought I got it right some. I didn’t, it just popped up when quoted

Maybe I will have to quote myself next time

The software kind of ruined my point though. I mean, Why The Face?

How far do you bike, badlander? My car is 15 years old and I hope to have it 15+ more.
