I am extremely guilty of this . It is the phone with me also. To get to the apostrophe I have to switch from the ABC screen to the number screen and then back just to hit an apostrophe that everyone gets anyway. So I quite often just consciously skip it even though I know one should be there.
My kids laugh at my text message conversations with friends - all largely written longhand with proper grammar and whatnot.
All my friends do this as well. I guess it's a generational thing.
My kids think it's hilarious.
They also laugh at me for still referring to songs as 'records'.
I still don't know how else to refer to them frankly.

I don't use short cuts in texting or posting either. I was a professional freelance writer - usually paid by the word. Old habits die hard.

Same here. I spell everything out and use punctuation. "U" for "you" makes me wince.
My daughter doesn't use text shorthand, either, at least not with me. She is 29.

To tell what food we need to buy we look in the fridge and pantry.
We still use a land line (wife also has a used iPhone 5s)
We own and read paper based books.
Oh and I use Vista because it works good with a firework piece of equipment which is not replaceable and Vista as lots better than Dos ever was.
How far do you bike, badlander? My car is 15 years old and I hope to have it 15+ more.
