In any event, their lack of concern for the sanctity of that life after birth takes place means that they are not really invested in the concept. For example: but for the outcry -- not of the church for the most part, but of secular society -- the US government, with the not-so-tacit approval and enabling participation of the religious right, would have continued to incarcerate children just like the one being pimped to hold that sign, without regard to their needs or welfare or any intention of reuniting them with their parents.
Well not JUST like that one, as it's a white middle class child with any immigrant past a safe couple of generations in the past.
Another example is the complete disinterest in eradicating child poverty and its side effects.
As far as I'm concerned, the religious right lost any pretense of appearing to hold any kind of moral high ground on 8th November 2016 and have only continued to go downhill ever since.
I tried on this forum for years to see things from their point of view. No longer.
Any so-called Christian that supports the separation of children from their parents in the name of immigration does not deserve any kind of respect.
As you say, this is just one example of enablement that has made me see the religious right for what they are.
