The point is supposed to be that praying to a jug of milk is no more or less effective than praying to a god. Less apparent is why this is classified as humor.

I sort of got that. Sort of.

What's the 'yes, no and wait' criteria referring to?

Really? Wake up! It's because believers perceive the answers to prayers as yes, no, or wait.

Okay, okay, no need for the snark. I'm not a seasoned prayer so I'm just asking the question.
So the answer to any question in prayer is yes, no or wait?

What if I'm praying for the answer to a math equation?
The answer is yes, no or wait?

What if I want to know if Schrodingers cat is dead or alive?

What if I want to know the answer to the great question of life, the universe and everything? What's the plan?

It's an old and long thread, so this may have already been posted...

----------

A priest and a rabbi were walking in the woods when they see a bear. They make a bet to see who can convert the bear. The priest goes off and comes back a little while later, badly cut and bruised.

"What happened?" asked the rabbi.

"It was all going well, but he really didn't take well to being baptised," replied the priest.

The rabbi thought for a moment and decided to call off the bet.

This is the first sentence I've seen where the use of pure math in the context of religion feels justified
