Really? Wake up! It's because believers perceive the answers to prayers as yes, no, or wait.
I for one got the point. We could say this with any object and it would likewise show the futility of prayer. Good one!
Okay, okay, no need for the snark. I'm not a seasoned prayer so I'm just asking the question.
So the answer to any question in prayer is yes, no or wait?
What if I'm praying for the answer to a math equation?

A priest and a rabbi were walking in the woods when they see a bear. They make a bet to see who can convert the bear. The priest goes off and comes back a little while later, badly cut and bruised.
"What happened?" asked the rabbi.
"It was all going well, but he really didn't take well to being baptised," replied the priest.
The rabbi thought for a moment and decided to call off the bet.
