There was in the early days of MARTA, but I believe opinions have changed in the last 30-40 years. There's been a lot of evolution from the planning standpoint along the whole Peachtree Corridor.

See, for example, Brookwood Alliance. A residential community in Atlanta, Georgia

Is ANY top end transit still in? Part of the problem with the current list is that there is tons of overlap between the projects (ie 3 different options for the same thing were all requested) so it's hard to tell what is actually removed.

Glad they eliminated stuff like MARTA escalators and so forth. That's just fodder for anti-transit folks and feeds the meme that MARTA is bloated and can't sustain itself. All the normal maintenance and stuff should fall under the 1% Fulton/Dekalb tax plus fares.

Extending MARTA would be a dream. We would be on par with other major cities like London. That map is on point.

Because it would be much faster than taking the bus, which would stop frequently. Some people would like the convenience of going into Atlanta or another county without always having to drive everywhere. Kennesaw is in North Cobb which would be out of the way for the people in Smyrna.

It looks like they nixed the transit along the top end in favor of building new interchanges and collector-distributor lanes to better move traffic. They added a $500 million re-do of the GA-400/I-285 interchange which is sorely needed. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for transit but that interchange is very out-dated. I'm glad they proposed extending MARTA along 400 further north though.

I'm not going to gripe about roadway improvements.

We need to attack on all fronts!

Do they actually drive and get stuck in traffic? How can they deny anything that goes back and forth from Cobb to Perimeter? SMH

Seems the money is talking, MARTA will continue up to Alpharetta.
